Art Fund Dubai was established in 2008 by the Dubai Culture & Arts Authority. Its founding purpose is to explore the deep integration of art and capital, thereby promoting the prosperity of Dubai’s culture and providing strong support for the long-term development of the UAE’s cultural sector. The fund is committed to witnessing the brilliant future of Dubai’s art. Through various projects and activities, it promotes the integration of art with Chinese and Arab cultures, injects vitality into Dubai’s art ecosystem, and helps Dubai shine on the international art stage.
Dubai Art Fair
The Dubai Art Fair is the most important global art event in the Middle East, providing a vital gateway for exploration, learning, and communication. The fair attracts galleries and artists from a select few regions each year, featuring around 120 contemporary, modern, and digital exhibitors, as well as ambitious artist commissions. It also hosts some of the most thought-provoking live programs and capacity-building plans in international art fairs. Its independent business model and innovative methods are always committed to redefining art fairs and the institutional role that fairs can play in building and supporting local cultural ecosystems. Education and thought leadership programs are at the core of achieving this goal. The Dubai Art Fair is proud to collaborate with governments and businesses to formulate and implement ambitious long-term plans to support the development of the UAE’s cultural sector.
Thought Leadership
Since its inception, the Dubai Art Fair has been dedicated to providing thought leadership and career development opportunities for artists and art professionals. Its flagship programs include the Global Art Forum - the annual interdisciplinary conference of the Dubai Art Fair, the Digital Summit, the Dubai Art Business Conference, as well as ambitious year-round programs for artists, modern art, and collectors.
Public Art Strategy
The Dubai Art Group has partnered with the Dubai Culture Authority to develop a multi-year public art strategy aimed at transforming Dubai into a vast canvas of art. This unique plan, developed in collaboration with Dubai’s leading institutions, invites artists from the UAE or those based in the UAE to provide ambitious new commissions across the city. For example, the “Union of Artists” large-scale installation art piece unveiled in Al Hudaiba Park in 2024 is the first permanent public sculpture under this strategy.
